Black Saturday for basketball

First the Lady Panthers blow an 11-point lead against an inferior Brownstown team, then an over-confident, can't-lose-at-home I.U. does just that, lose to an outmanned Conneticut by playing both miserably and stupidly. Then the Panthers also lose to Brownstown, though in this case, Brownstown was the better team, at least Saturday, with freshman Brandon Dunaway on the sidelines with a broken foot. Unfortunately, he's out for the season.

The only thing that could have made the day worse is if Kentucky had won. Oh, yeah, right, they did.

The one good thing that happened Saturday was the big kickoff dinner-dance to celebrate Corydon's 200th birthday. The Gerdon Center was packed and it seemed like everyone was having a swell time. Even those of us old enough to point out that the "art room" was actually the band room when we went to junior high school in that building. A few years back...

Winter break's over

Basketball season's winding up. Baseball tryouts already in full swing (so to speak.) Big week this week. Mid-Southern Conference swimming championships coming up Thursday night, two basketball games Saturday, and the big kickoff dance for Corydon's 200th birthday Saturday night. We'll be there for all of those events if you can't make it.

Thanks for your support in 2007 and keep visiting us.
